Killswitch Enagage Name Their New Album…Killswitch Engage

April 14, 2009 by Scott

Killswitch Engage Killswitch Engage have decided to release their new album due later out this year (June 30th) as a self titled release. Hopefully this won’t be their Black Album, although I do actually dig Metallica’s Black Album no matter how much I say that I don’t. I know, I’m all ass-backwards.

This time around they have reached out to an outside producer instead of Adam Dutkiewicz producing it, so it makes me wonder how much different it will sound. Brendan O’Brian, who was chosen to produce has produced for Pearl Jam, AC/DC and most notably in my opinion Mastodon’s Crack The Skye. Howard Jones stated in the Roadrunner.com announcement:

Roadrunner United DVD

October 10, 2008 by Scott

roadrunner united This is kind of yesterdays news, but I think it’s still worth a mention. When I heard about the Roadrunner United project I thought it was a brilliant idea with just an amazing line-up. If you have yet to hear the Roadrunner United Compilation, I highly suggest you run out RIGHT NOW and buy it. After they recorded the All Star Sessions, they had a one off concert in NYC and filmed a DVD. Like three years later (Yeah, what took so long), they are releasing a 2 disc DVD of the even. Here is the release from Roadrunner Records:

Megadeth Begin Recording New Album

October 10, 2008 by Scott

Dave Mustaine_nc It looks as if Dave Mustaine has put the gears in motion and Megadeth has begun to record the follow up to United Abominations. The brand new custom constructed studio has been named "Vic’s Garage". Just a quick note before I post what the announcement said: I’ve been a Megadeth fan for a long time and have spent a lot of money on Megadeth merch. I hate the fact that it’s almost a grueling process to register to become a forum member and even then you privileges are limited. It’s just like the Metallica fan club thing. As if you don’t shovel out enough money on cd, t-’s and show tickets, you have to pay to know more about the band? However they do send you a bunch of stuff as a Megafan, so I guess if I joined and paid, I couldn’t really complain too much. Dave Mustaine Issued the following statement on the Megadeth Forums:

Trivium…I Don’t Hate Them

October 1, 2008 by Scott

trivium shogun I bought Triviums new release Shogun yesterday and I’ve been listening to it on and off. With Shogun, Matt Heafy reaches back to Ascendancy with some of the vocals. I said before that I didn’t care for Ascendancy as much as I like The Crusade, but listening to Shogun and the older style Heafy screams, I had to check out Ascendancy again.

Megadeth Announce Tour With Judas Priest And Testament…In The UK.

September 30, 2008 by Scott

Damn, to be stuck in America with no fat wads of money to blow when things like this come around. Megadeth announce today that they will be touring with Judas Priest on Priest Feast with Testament opening in february. For real…why can’t we get more of that in the U.S.. I know we just had the Metal Masters Tour but come one. I really shouldn’t bitch about stuff like this because there are some fans that don’t get to see any good concerts. Below are the tour dates.

Soulfly: Conquer. Possibly The Best Soulfly Album…EVER!

August 15, 2008 by Scott

soulfly conquer I’ve been hesitant about buy the new Soulfy CD, Conquer,  even after hearing Unleash and really liking it. I was worried that it would be another over nu-metal, tribal crazy/crappy album like most of them are. I remember really liking the first Soulfly, but these days I can’t bear listening to it. After buying Soulfly 3 I was a bit disappointed too. The Cavalera Conspiracy gave me hope. It gave me hope that Max still had it in him. The ability to right kick ass thrashy songs.

(sigh) I Know I Said No More Slipknot news But…

July 8, 2008 by Scott

allhopeisgone Ok, earlier today I know I said no more Slipknot news for at least 72 hours and I meant it. I even saw something shortly afterwards about a iTunes pre-order for All Hope Is Gone and I refrained from posting that or even updating the last ‘knot post to reflect that news…but this is kinda big.

Perhaps you’ve already heard but Slipknot will be releasing the final artwork for All Hope Is Gone at midnight U.S. EST at Roadrunner Records UK site.

I may even stay up late and post the artwork so you’re going to have to suck it up and just deal with another Slipknot post…and then I’ll give it a rest, I promise.
