Not only that but you can check them out on http://www.lamb-of-god.com/, live in the studio on two different live cams.

So this will be their 4th full length studio album. With each album you’ve seen the evolution of the band. Some like the older stuff more then the new, but I dig a good clean sound with vocals that you can actually make out most of the words. With this comes the end of the poll and the survey clearly says that Ashes Of The Wake seems to be everyone’s favorite with Sacrament not too far behind. About half the votes of Ashes.

Time for a Metallica Poll, I guess.

I haven’t been a fan of Lamb Of God for very long now. It just started last summer. I had heard of L.O.G. a million times and even sampled some of the cd’s briefly at FYE but sometimes you don’t get a good listen on the listening stations. Not only that but Randy Blythe’s vocals can be an acquired taste. I didn’t really get interested until I heard Laid To Rest. What really got me was the guitars and the slightly off beat rhythm of the song. Anyway, here is how I rate my Lamb Of God collection.

Ashes Of The Wake – Every song on this album are killer. No two ways around it.

As The Palaces Burn – The 11th Hour, Boot Scraper and Blood Junkie, just to name a few. This in my opinion is their second best work.

Sacrament – While this album is a bit more catchy, you can hear how Randy’s voice has evolved and is a brilliantly engineered sounding recording.

New American Gospel – Lamb Of God’s debut with their “New Name” is one of my least favorite because even the re-mastered version leaves some production value to be desired.

Burn The Priest – Lamb Of God’s first record with their original name gives you the band in their most raw form. I included this album because after all…it’s still Lamb Of God.

With every album you can see how the band has improved their form and sound. Call them what you want, Lamb Of God is a hard working American metal band that purely kicks ass. With a new 2 disk DVD coming July first called Walk With Me In Hell through a distribution deal with RoadRunner Records , I’m really anticipating another cool dvd. Killadelphia showed the good, the bad, and the ugly of the band on the road.

You’ve seen some press releases that I have posted for them and sometimes they send me CD’s to review. So now that I’ve reviewed them, it’s time for me to pass them on. Also I have a few things I am giving away out of my own pocket. Keep in mind all of these are used in new condition. So here I have two DVDs and 11 cd’s and 1 Metal Headbangers Companion 6 disc set. This is the format that I will be giving them away in:

Lamb Of God Killadelphia DVD and Lamb Of God Sacrament CD

Prosthetic Records: Skeleton Witch Beyond The Permafrost and Through The Eyes Of The Dead Malice

Dwell Records: Fight Pretty Rewiring The Human Body and Hail!hornet

A Live CD Set: Ozzy Osbourne Randy Rhoads Tribute and Megadeth Extended Versions

Sampler Pack: Black Tide Shockwave EP, Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2007 cd, Radio Rebellion DVD

Metal: A Headbanger Companion 6 Disc Set

And lastly this is the “I Can’t Believe I Actually Paid Money For This” set: Dragonforce Inhuman Rampage and Viva La Bands Vol 2.

So here is how we’re going to do it: You comment and show interest in one of these sets (just one). At the end of the month I will go through the comments and and see who showed interest in which set and pick a winner for each set. It’s that easy. So which set would you like?

(I won an iPod shuffle at our Xmas party at work today. I’d love to be able to give that away, but I kinda like it!)

The Lamb Of God Deluxe Producer Edition came out last week and being a fan I bought it because I thought this was a pretty cool concept. Honestly I’m kinda disappointed.

The Sacrament cd is a great Lamb Of God release in my opinion but this is kinda just the same old thing. I thought it might atleast have something extra. On the producer CD all you get is a folder of each song with the tracks (Guitar, Vocal, Drum, Etc.) in it. Not that I expected a whole lot more but it doesnt offer any software to use with it; so you need something like Cakewalk.

While this is still kinda cool it is still what it is and I think they could have put it all on one cd and sold it with some bonus tracks or something. The price isn’t much higher from the original release so I guess thats a plus.

I havent had a whole lot of time to play with it but I still think it wouldhave been better if it was offered with some kind of software for the user. I think it was one of those “Hey let’s do this! And get it out fast” ideas. Perhaps it would make a good gift forthat Lamb Of God fan that doesn’t already have Sacrament.

After some searching I guess it’s actually called the Tour Edition. Here is an excerpt from the original press release from Lamb-Of-god.com on November 5th.

After some searching I guess it’s actually called the Tour Edition. Here is an excerpt from the original press release from Lamb-Of-god.com on November 5th.
Industry pioneers LAMB OF GOD have crossed the line. Literally. Breaking down the smoke and mirrors and allowing fans and professionals alike the revolutionary opportunity to produce and/or remix the entire Sacrament audio CD. All of the studio audio tracks (guitar, vocals, drums & bass) from the entire Sacrament album have been isolated, separated and prepared for use in any Mac or PC multi-track recording program.

I kinda want to get this but I like to leave well enough alone. Perhaps I’ll remove the vocals and add my own and sing in the style of a lounge singer or something…that would be pretty cool.

Lamb of God has a crazy idea where they are going to re-release Sacrament and let you remix, master and produce the record to your liking by using any mac or pc and even share your mix online.
This sounds pretty cool to me, but honestly…what can you do to this record production-wise that would make it any better. Unless your a technophile and you turn it into a techno-beat mix or something that you would dig more, I couldn’t think of changing a damn thing about this record that would make it better.

This sounds pretty cool to me, but honestly…what can you do to this record production-wise that would make it any better. Unless your a technophile and you turn it into a techno-beat mix or something that you would dig more, I couldn’t think of changing a damn thing about this record that would make it better.

Here is an excerpt from lamofgod.tv.

“Track and add your own effects, vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and anything else you can imagine! Isolate tracks to help learn or to play/sing along. Create your own new unique songs or loops by cutting apart, rearranging or mixing up tracks or even entire songs. The possibilities are endless and the tools are now in your hands.”

You know what gets me is the people on blabbermouth that say sh*t like: “wow, I actually like this idea even though I hate the band.” and ” This band is alright, but this idea is f**kin cool”. To this say : What are you guys listening to that is so much better? Cause I really want to know, cause right now if there is anything better I want to hear it. I’m not kissing LOG’s ass or anything but I consider them the best modern American metal band right now. With all the other garbage out there You can’t go wrong with LOG.

To all you hateful bastards out there that think your so damn good, I’d just like to see you put together a band that can sound even a fraction as good as these guys do and maybe I’ll buy your record, and then I’LL remix it…right in the crack of my ass!

So you know how I commented awhile back on how I wish I had got into This band awhile back? Well after buying Ashes Of The Wake, I wanted more. I ordered Sacrament online and it was taking some time to get here so in the mean time I bought As The Palaces Burn and just today I bought New American Gospel. While I can tell you that I enjoy Palaces, the production value of Gospel is quite disappointing and it’s making it difficult for me to really like it.

On a better note I also received Sacrament today and I’m 7 songs into it and I love every bit of it. Some bands evolve into crap and some evolve in amazing pieces of art…Lamb of God is that amazing piece of art that you stare at with your ears. The guitars and drums are such a great mix, nothing over-powers the other like so many bands these days. Randy, D.Randall or whatever you want to call him has developed his voice to a beautiful sound of bunnies being raked across red hot coals and It’s awesome!

I think I’m going to stop here and be satisfied with my Lamb Of God collection until their next release. It may be better not to try to reach any further back like you can do with some bands. So Ashes Of The Wake And Sacrament are my two favorites from LOG. Thanks Izzy for the advice for Sacrament, I’m really diggin’ it.
