The new video for Shadows Fall video Evermore from the Threads Of Life album is getting a lot of criticism on myspace. Nothing new really. They have been drawing a lot of criticism ever since signing to Atlantic records and releasing Threads Of Life. While I don’t think it’s their best album it’s still pretty […]

10 years ago, Shadows fall out of Massachusetts released their debut record called Somber Eyes To The Sky on Lifeless Records. With Phil Labonte on vocals Shadows Fall sounded much different than the Shadows Fall of today with Brian Fair. Not taking anything away from Brian, but they lost an extremely talented vocalist in […]

Northern hyperblast is back with a bang on Prevail, the ninth studio release from prolific Canadian brutalists, Kataklysm. Following on the heels of 2006’s critically-acclaimed In The Arms of Devastation, the band’s latest slab of blastbeaten death metal is some of the sharpest, most visceral material of the Montreal-based crew’s nearly 20-year career. I have dumped a bunch of money into CDs this past year, probably more than I have in a long time. I have discovered and re-discovered bands that I’ve been missing out on and was even introduced to new music by record labels that sent me CDs to review (Thanks Bob at Prosthetic and Taylor […]

Among all of the other crap that gets nominated for Grammy awards there are always the underlying heavy metal nominees that never get played or even announced. Well here are the metal nominees for best metal performance, not too bad. I think they could have picked some better songs by all the bands though.

The Black Crusade tour kicks off tomorrow in Glasgow Scotland. Attending the tour is Trivium, Machinehead, Shadows Fall, Dragon Force (Time to get refreshments) and Arch Enemy. Not in that particular order. I hope they bring this tour to the US, but then again I’ll probably have to travel a ways to get to a […]
