Bloodbath are an extreme metal supergroup from Stockholm, Sweden. Formed in 1998 with a mutual fascination for the glory days of death metal, the band’s line-up has changed and evolved throughout the years, featuring the elite of Swedish metal.
The next chapter of this brutal saga arrives on October 6th 2008 with the release of the new studio album, The Fathomless Mastery.

If you dig Bloodbath’s Unblessing The Purity Ep, then chances are you’re going to love The Fathomless Mastery. With the same line-up as Unblessing The Purity, Bloodbath has described The Fathomless Mastery as “Nothing But Hateful Brutality“. Sounds good to me. Unblessing The Purity was an awesome Ep and just what I needed after getting in to Opeth recently.

So if you don’t know who Bloodbath is then this is what I can tell you. Bloodbath is Swedish death metal. A bad ass band made up from members of Katatonia and Opeth, particularly Michael Akerfeldt on vocals. Recently just releasing a live CD/DVD called The Wacken Carnage, they also released a 4 song EP through Peaceville Records called Unblessing The Purity.
