Misfits Reunion In The Works…Or Just More Stupid Rumors?
November 10, 2008 by Scott
Metal Hammer reports that The Misfits recently reopened The Fiend Club. What does this mean? Well it could mean a few things. First it could mean, well…that the Misfits Fiend Club is open again. It could also mean that a reunion is in the works…or it could mean that Jerry Only has hired 3 or 4 other dudes to play along side him and once again use the Misfits name while making a mockery of what was once a “Legacy Of Brutality” (shameless pun intended). If we can expect a reunion I doubt it will be of the kind …read more
Scrap Metal Report 9/11
I didn’t bother watching the news this morning because everything is about 9/11 again. It was a terrible tragedy for the United States and they say “We Will Never Forget”. Even if we wanted to forget, we couldn’t. It’s embedded in our brains and every year they have to hold a ceremony and repeat the names of the people that died. I’m not trying to be a negative, cynical bastard about this, but is a ceremony necessary every year? Can we not take other measures to remember and perhaps start moving forward? Like I said, I’m not being …read more

As reported by Antimusic.com, The Misfits have pulled out of the Volcom tour with Motorhead, Valient Thor and Airbourne. Antimusic said they were waiting on The Misfits PR to get back to them with a reason but have yet to publish one. All That was said was this short statement by the only original member left in the band, Jerry Only:
“The Misfits have always held an incredibly high standard of performance and quality in everything we do. Our fans expect this and deserve it. I will not compromise their expectations for any amount of money, prestige …read more
Gorgeous Frankenstein and No Misfits Reunion
September 4, 2008 by Scott
I’m a Misfits fan since the mid 90’s when a co-worker/friend of mine introduced me to them, but it wasn’t until I saw a live show with then vocalist, Michael Graves, before they put out American Psycho. They played most of the classics and I loved it. I say most of the classics because they are all classics…with exception of the new stuff. American Psycho had some really great songs but Famous Monsters sucked and Project 1950 was only ok.
Anyway, you probably know the story goes that Doyle left in 2000 and it was never really clear why. Since …read more

Rolling Stone Magazine recently caught up with Metallica at Record Store Day on April 19th and conducted an interview with drummer Lars Ulrich. Here is a few excerpts.
RS: You went through four boxes of Sharpies signing autographs on Record Store Day. Can you talk about that marathon meet and greet?Lars: I think the intense energy and all the love carried us through. I didn’t even take a pee break! It’s probably the longest we’ve gone for as long as I can remember. We used to be like, “Where’s the beer? Fire up the …read more
Concept Albums And More Concept Albums

Is creative Lyric writing getting stale or is it me? With bands going for concept albums it kind of make you think something is wrong in the mind of the lyricists or something.
I love Judas Priest but this whole new concept album about Nostradamus has me wondering. You kind of saw this type of song writing with Lochness on their last release Angel Of Retribution, which I thought was a pretty god come back album. But it depicted the Lochness Monster as some blood thirsty beast preying on man …read more
What Was Your Favorite Show?
March 23, 2008 by Scott
I can honestly say that I have not been to as many Metal shows as some people, but the ones I have been to have been some of the most memorable moments in my life. The last show I was at was the ATR show at the beginning of this month and I’m sure your all tired of hearing me talk about that by now. While it was an awesome show it is not number 1 on my list but it’s in the top ten. Ozfest 97 was a great experience seeing Black Sabbath, Pantera and a bunch of …read more
Metal Martyr Personal Top Ten
March 3, 2008 by Scott
Its that time of the month again and the b5 Music channel is publishing the top tens of each channel. I decided to kind of do my own thing and list the top ten songs I’ve been listening to lately and the top ten cd’s I’ve been diggin as well. So far in 2008 I’ve tried to expand what metal I’ve been listening to. Exploring new bands and even sub-genres like Black Metal that I normally talk a lot of trash about. Sometimes you come to like the things you previously disliked and you have to take it with …read more
Danzig | A Downhill Discography
January 20, 2008 by Scott
You ever buy a brand new car and it’s really cool for the first two years or so and then it loses it “Thing” after awhile. So you try to spice it up with some new rims or something to try to make it flash again. You get back into it for a short period just to realize that it’s the same old car and it may be time to move on and remember the good ole’ time you had when you first got it. Thats how I feel about my Danzig collection. Let us begin…
