Here is an older post I wrote almost a year ago. It was about the record insustry and about all the metal/metalcore bands that are out there. My views on a lot of bands has since changed but I still feel there is so many damn metal or metalcore bands rather, that sound the same. The RIAA Are A Bunch Of Horny S.O.B.s

The RIAA are a bunch of horny S.O.B.s. Why? Because as usual they are trying to screw someone. This article on Ultimate Guitar goes on to say that a lot of artists managers have been complaining that the RIAA is not distributing the money they are getting from settlements to the artists like they are supposed to. The estimated amount from settlements is around 400 million, minus lawyer fees I imagine there is still a fair amount left that should be given to the artists. Internet Killed Music? I Think NOT!

Roberta over at Earsucker posted a story about Gene Simmons stating that the internet and illegal downloading has killed music. Perhaps it’s killing the music industry and record labels can’t make the money they used to by milking the bands for every cent they are worth then hanging them out to dry when they find the next big thing. Sorry “big label” boys, Those days are over. He goes on to say that there will never be another band like Kiss or The Beatles.

As we all know, the record industry has taken a dive financially ever since peer to peer downloading was invented. Not as many CD’s were sold over those years and to this day it is still a problem for the industry, even though free peer to peer is not as popular or even as useful these days due to fake downloads. However the record industry has found a not so desirable solution to their dilemma.
