]]> I’m not a heroin addict, lower class living where I grew up wasn’t that bad, my parents were good to me and my life has not all been that bad. It’s had some rocky points in it but overall I can’t complain because others have had it much worse. So the soundtrack of my day (yet another list day here at b5Media) goes something like this.

Starting yesterday up until now this is what I’ve been listening to.

  1. Children Of Bodom: Needled 24/7. I was listening to this yesterday doing yardwork when I accidentally ran over a little tiny bunny with the lawnmower. That was not cool, I don’t care what type of music you listen to.
  2. Killswitch Engage: Bid Farewell. This has nothing to do with the demise of the rabbit. It was just the first song to get played this morning on my way to work.
  3. NOFX: The Moron Brothers. Say what you want about these guys, they are great musicians and this song is funny as hell. “Their company you surely won’t miss when your ice trays are filled with piss”
  4. Sepultura: Orgasmatron. A great cover of Motorhead’s classic.
  5. Lamb Of God: Ruin. From As Palaces Burn. Just a bad ass song.
  6. Estranged: Guns N Roses. You could almost call Guns N Roses the first Emo rock band. read the lyrics to most any of the songs, you’ll see. Except GnR kick ass.
  7. Dethklok: Castratikron. Just a random song I played. Anything Dethklok is awesome.
  8. Crowbar: Planets Collide. I don’t listen to a whole lot of Crowbar but this is a real cool and heavy, slow groove tune.
  9. Absolute Vengeance: My Revenge. This again is a great metal band from northern VA. Check out their Myspace. Absolute Vengeance Myspace
  10. Mushroomhead: Crazy (Seal cover) I don’t listen to Seal, but this another awesome cover song.

There you have it. The Metal Martyr Soundtrack of my day. No wining or crying. Not even for the bunny, which would probably have been eaten or run over by a car sooner or later anyway.

]]> dtp_skullisland_800.jpgImagine that you somehow get stranded on a deserted island, sorta like that TV show Lost…except without polar bears, crazy people and shit. So you’restranded there and you just happen to have 10 cd’s there to listen to. If you could have your pick of ten cd’s to have with you, loaded on your IPod, whatever, what would they be? This was a tough choice but here is mine.

1. Megadeth: Peace Sells
2. Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here
3. Black Sabbath: Paranoid
4. Danzig: III How The Gods Kill
5. The Misfits: Collection 1
6. Pantera: Vulgar Display Of Power
7. Lamb Of God: Ashes Of The Wake
8. Iron Maiden: Number Of The Beast
9. Marvin Gaye Collection (2003)
10. Led Zeppelin: 4

I mixed it up a bit because I wouldn’t want just metal to listen to, I’d go crazy. Besides, you need a little Marvin Gaye cause you never know if there is going to be some one else stranded with you and no one sets the mood like Marvin.
