Skeletonwitch’s “Breathing the Fire” Scorches The Billboard Charts

SKELETONWITCH’s new effort, “Breathing The Fire,” sold 3,500 copies in its first week of release, landing at number #151 on the Billboard Top 200 and #2 on the magazine’s Heatseekers Chart. The album was recorded in Seattle with acclaimed producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, High on Fire). The band spent the last month on the road with Children of Bodom and are now supporting The Black Dahlia Murder alongside Toxic Holocaust and labelmates Trap Them. They will then head to Europe for a co-headline tour with Toxic Holocaust and Goatwhore.

Skeletonwitch to Release “Breathing the Fire” Tuesday

SKELETONWITCH is almost ready to unleash their metal masterpiece Breathing the Fire on October 13th via Prosthetic Records.  Breathing the Fire is the follow up to the band’s critically acclaimed album, Beyond the Permafrost (Prosthetic Records, 2007). The Athens, OH based band traveled to Seattle, WA to record with producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, High On Fire). The album was mastered by Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer.

Skeletonwitch have launched the first in a series of webisodes documenting the recording of their upcoming full length Breathing the Fire (October 13, Prosthetic Records) with producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, High On Fire, Toxic Holocaust). It can be viewed at prostheticrecords.com.

The band has also announced iTunes pre-order is now available for Breathing the Fire. The iTunes version includes an exclusive bonus track called, “Only No Rest for the Dead.” It can be ordered here.

The Black Dahlia Murder Forced to Cancel Tour

The Black Dahlia Murder was all set to tour with Slipknot in the coming months. As many of you know, Slipknot had to cancel the remainder of their tour, due to an unnamed illness or accident involving drummer extraordinaire Joey Jordison. Because of this, The Black Dahlia Murder has also had to cancel these dates, and made the following statement regarding the cancellation:

Napalm Death – Time Waits For Now Slave Review And  Tour Dates

MetalUnderground announced a few tour dates for Grindcore Pioneers, Napalm Death as they tour in support of their upcoming album, Time Waits For No Slave. They’ll be touring with Kataklysm, Toxic Holocaust, Abigail Williams and Trap Them.
Time Waits For No Slave comes out on February 10th on Century Media. I’ve had a chance to listen to the album and it’s a great, modern Napalm Death album. A quick review and tour dates after the fold.
