Speaking Of Twisted Sister

November 26, 2008 by Scott

Here is a cover of Twisted Sister’s Burn In Hell from their Stay Hungry album. The cover is by Black Metal artists Dimmu Borgir. This was actually the first Dimmu Borgir song I ever heard. I saw them in an interview about 4 years ago and ran a search and this song came up. It’s a pretty cool cover/rendition of a classic T.S. tune. Enjoy.

RATT and Twisted Sister One Hit Wonders?

November 25, 2008 by Scott

Twisted Sister Stay HUngry I saw the advertisement for this the other day and it pissed me off. You know the “One Hit Wonder” shows that air on VH1 every now and then? Well there is another one coming soon to VH1 Classic and two of the bands they are going to cover are Twisted Sister and RATT. Last time I checked neither of these bands were one hit wonders. Not to me anyway. Maybe they were one hit wonders in the corporate world of Mtv, but both of these bands had plenty of good songs.

Twisted For A Good Cause | Bikers For Babies

September 19, 2008 by Scott

DEE_SNIDER_NC Anyone that follows Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider knows that he’s a good guy regardless of the way he dresses or anything they have ever heard about him in the past.  So check it out. Dee’s doing good deeds again with the March Of Dimes Bikers For Babies:

Not So Quick June Re-cap.

July 1, 2008 by Scott

What? One lousy update yesterday? Yeah, I know. That’s not like me but I had a few things in order that I had to take care of last night. So let’s go over June really quick.

I went to see Dark Tranquility, Divine Heresy, Firewind and Soldiers Of Scrape on the Tyranny And Bloodshred tour…minus the tyranny. That was a bad ass show. I’ll announce the winner of the autographed Bleed The Fifth CD tonight.

Withered’s new album Folie Circulaire came out on the 17th, an extremely heavy and noisy album to say the least, but it’s one of those that just grows on you.

Judas Priesthad as saying Jesus Christ! with Nostradamus While it wasn’t the Priest we know, it was a concept album that I don’t think anyone was really ready for. Great musically, but unlike Priest.

Motley Crue graced us with an album that had me wanting a small part of my life back. That part being the time I spent listening to the Saints Of Los Angeles. Read more

Twisted Sister Take Broadway

June 3, 2008 by Scott

a twisted christmas That’s right! Twisted Sister are taking their Twisted Christmas to Broadway. Their 2006 A Twisted Christmas Live was kind of a come back hit dvd for them and a lot of older (ok, I’m not that old) metal-heads to include myself actually enjoyed it. I bought it for my son, who at 9 years old started to really dig T.S. after playing Guitar Hero Rock The 80’s.

Dee Snyder mentioned before that they have no interest in making new music. They just enjoy singing the classics and playing live. Anyway, nothing like seeing old fat dudes in make-up singing their classics. But you know I’d be there in a heart beat if I could.

Headbanger’s Ball Playlist For 4/26

April 25, 2008 by Scott

hbb There were some pretty good videos on Heabanger’s Ball last week. I really like the new Death Angel video, and even though they play the shit outta that Demon Hunter video I think it’s starting to grow on me. I can honestly say that I am terribly tired of that Straight Line Stitch video and I’ve only seen it once, and I can’t really say I’m a Dillinger Escape Plan fan. Anyway, there are still some killer videos coming on this weekend if you can stomach the commercials. I think if there wasn’t so many commercials I could probably stay awake through a full episode.

FIREWIND - MERCENARY MAN
DEATH ANGEL - DETHRONED
THE SWORD - MAIDEN, MOTHER & CRONE
TWISTED SISTER - I WANNA ROCK
BEHEMOTH - AT THE LEFT HAND OF GOD (Headbangers Ball EXCLUSIVE premiere)

Dee Snider Always Tells The Truth

February 7, 2008 by Scott

DEE_SNIDER_BWa Here is a piece from a post on Blabbermouth.net where Dee goes on about Britney Spears and about Twisted Sister. If aliens landed on Earth and said “We’ have found no sign of intelligent life form…except this guy.” they would be talking about Dee. read on.

On the future of TWISTED SISTER: “It’s not the focus of my life anymore. Last year we did seven shows. We’ll do festivals or something like that, and we’ll put on the makeup and costumes and we’ll go the whole nine yards and give the people what they want. One thing they don’t want is new music.

If This Was Blabbermouth’s Period, They’d Be Pregnant.

October 5, 2007 by Scott

test.jpgOk, So you guys remember when I commented on the birth control pill commercial using the Twisted Sister song, “We’re Not Gonna Take It”. Well, Blabbermouth.com has finally caught on. I get a lot of news and stuff from Blabbermouth but this is like month and a half later. Maybe you guys should stop reporting on crappy band that sounds the same as the last and watch some TV once in awhile.

While I love blabbermouth, they seem to have readers that want to comment on everything no matter how stupid it seems. They get 40 comments saying how old news is. People there comment just for the sake of commenting. Some are hilarious though and some take shit way too serious, hence some of the comments on the TS birth control article where it goes into the anal sex stuff…my god some of these people have nothing better to do. I hope this blog never ges to that point. I’ll enjoy the page hits but I’ll spend all day moderating. Read the blabbermouth article about it here.

Makes me feel good that I got this out long before they did…even though is is about birth control.

Twisted Sister And Birth Control

August 20, 2007 by Scott

twistedsister.jpgI was just watching TV and there was a birth control pill commercial and the theme song to it was We’re Not Gonna Take It covered by some girly band. I wonder if Dee knows about this and would he approve. We all know that dressing like Dee and the boys from T.S. won’t get you laid but the theme song for a birth control commercial?
