Twisted Sister’s entire Stay Hungry album is proof that they are not one-hit-wonders. Where do they get off on say that they are OHW’s? T.S. didn’t have a really long run as a band, but they are well known, especially by their fans for having way more than one hit. Let’s just take a quick look at probably their biggest hit from radio and t.v.. We’re Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock. That’s two by my count. Add another arm load of hits and you have enough of a legacy to be more than one hit wonders.

I can’t say that I was a diehard RATT fan, but they had plenty enough to not be known as one-hit-wonders.  This show is being produced by No Good TV…I think they are just trying to live up their name.

Dee Snider Joins March of Dimes Bikers for Babies(R)

Popular Event Enters Its 17th Year

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Dee Snider, best known as the front man for the 1980s heavy metal band Twisted Sister, is taking on a new lead role this year as Honorary Chairman of March of Dimes Bikers for Babies. The cause is personal: two of his children were born prematurely, and he’s leading the pack to help other babies be born healthy.

Snider is also a radio personality, television host, author, voiceover artist, screenplay writer and actor. He has adopted the March of Dimes Bikers for Babies as his charity of choice. After riding with the Connecticut Chapter of the March of Dimes for three years, Snider saw a need and created and chaired the event that carries his name — Dee Snider’s Bikers for Babies on Long Island, N.Y. That was six years ago. “I’m honored to be a part of these events and proud of their success in raising funds to fight premature birth,” he says. Snider will personally participate in three upcoming events: they are in Alabama on Oct. 11; St. Louis on Oct. 12; and in Las Vegas on Oct. 25.

He also appeared last week on Fox’s TV show Kitchen Nightmares, riding an autographed motorcycle donated by Lighthouse Harley-Davidson of Huntington Station, New York, which will be auctioned to benefit the March of Dimes.

In total, 30 Bikers for Babies events will be held this year, primarily in the fall months. The rides average between 60 and 80 miles. The event is sponsored nationally by Farmers Insurance Group.

As part of his ongoing fundraising for the March of Dimes, Snider will be raffling off a custom-designed bike in January 2009. The proceeds will go to Dee Snider’s Bikers for Babies on Long Island, N.Y.

Last year, more than 45,000 riders and 250 motorcycle clubs got on the road and raised $2.8 million for babies. This year’s event promises to be just as strong. You can locate particular events by logging on to www.bikersforbabies.org

I went to see Dark Tranquility, Divine Heresy, Firewind and Soldiers Of Scrape on the Tyranny And Bloodshred tour…minus the tyranny. That was a bad ass show. I’ll announce the winner of the autographed Bleed The Fifth CD tonight.

Withered’s new album Folie Circulaire came out on the 17th, an extremely heavy and noisy album to say the least, but it’s one of those that just grows on you.

Judas Priesthad as saying Jesus Christ! with Nostradamus While it wasn’t the Priest we know, it was a concept album that I don’t think anyone was really ready for. Great musically, but unlike Priest.

Motley Crue graced us with an album that had me wanting a small part of my life back. That part being the time I spent listening to the Saints Of Los Angeles.

Slipknot released a free single in the title track of their upcoming album All Hope Is Gone. A lot of people are looking forward to the release of the new Album, to include myself. If you want the single now you will have to buy it…or download it from someone else who already has it.

Metallica announced the new titleof their upcoming CD will be Death Magnetic and hopefull it won’t be Crap Magnetic and I did my own spin on it before hand.

TriviumAlso announced the title of their new cd, Shogun…do-mo arigato Mr. Roboto!

Himsa anounced their last show and their disbanding.

Testament won Album Of The Year at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards

Light This City anounced that they are calling it quits and disappoint a shitload of people.

I started adding Metallica vinyl reissues to my collection even though I talk so much trash about them.

I gave a little piece of advice to Artist that try to retaliate against Blabbermouth trash talkers.

I took on a new Blog in The Rock Dose, a rock themed blog. Check It out some time.

I held a voting poll to see what people thought was Metallica’s Best Realease…it was almost scary!

Kiss says they are going to keep the marketing torch a blazing with an all new line-up of band in the future.

Twisted Sister announce they are taking the show to…BROADWAY?

Lastly, Disturbed released Indestructiblewhich sold a crap load of cd’s. I think people were pretty surprised that so many people actually dug them…or maybe it was The Dillinger Escape Plan that bought them all up?

That was about the important stuff that went on this month here. I hate going back through things and finding spelling and typing errors, but hell, I’m only human. I can’t wait to see what July has in store for us. Keep an eye out for a new contest for Metal Martyr’s 1 year anniversary!

Dee Snyder mentioned before that they have no interest in making new music. They just enjoy singing the classics and playing live. Anyway, nothing like seeing old fat dudes in make-up singing their classics. But you know I’d be there in a heart beat if I could.

On the future of TWISTED SISTER: “It’s not the focus of my life anymore. Last year we did seven shows. We’ll do festivals or something like that, and we’ll put on the makeup and costumes and we’ll go the whole nine yards and give the people what they want. One thing they don’t want is new music.

If we go, ‘This one’s from our new album!’ you see hundreds of people standing up and walking out of the room. KISS put out their ‘Psycho Circus’ record in 1998, and it didn’t sell! The fans don’t want KISS 2000. They want ‘Rock and Roll All Night’. So we have no illusions about that. We will continue until the spandex explodes. While I love blabbermouth, they seem to have readers that want to comment on everything no matter how stupid it seems. They get 40 comments saying how old news is. People there comment just for the sake of commenting. Some are hilarious though and some take shit way too serious, hence some of the comments on the TS birth control article where it goes into the anal sex stuff…my god some of these people have nothing better to do. I hope this blog never ges to that point. I’ll enjoy the page hits but I’ll spend all day moderating. Read the blabbermouth article about it here.

Makes me feel good that I got this out long before they did…even though is is about birth control.
