The Flood have just announced that their new song “Lethal Injection” will be included on the latest installment of the SAW movie soundtrack. The SAW VI soundtrack will drop on October 20th via Trustkill Records and will feature exclusive and unreleased tracks from metal heavyweights Everytime I Die, Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, and Type O Negative, to name a few. The Flood have just wrapped up their debut record with Sylvia Massy (Smashing Pumpkins, Tool) at her Radiostar Studios in Weed, CA. A massive tour announcement for the Fall is coming soon.

One album I forgot about that came out yesterday was Seventh Void’s Heaven Is Gone. Seventh Void is one of the newest acquisitions for Vinnie Paul Abbott’s label, Big Vin Records. Seventh Void features Kenny Hickey of Type-O Negative fame on guitar and vocals, Johnny Kelly on drums, also of Type-O fame. On guitar they also have Matt Brown from NYC based industrial band Uranium 235 and Hank Hell of Inhuman on Bass.

There wasn’t really anything that came out last week that I thought was worth posting. This week is a bit different with a few significant albums. If you’re in to crappy music then you’ll be eager to run out and buy Papa Roach’s new album, but I would opt for any one of the others on this list before I made that mistake.

Friday I was at F.Y.E., you know, the place that generally sell CD’s and DVD’s for about 6 dollars more than anywhere else. Anyway, I found a Megadeth CD entitle “Extended Versions” with a lest of songs that vary from albums through their career. This is some old news but… it seems in the last two years our beloved vampire wanna-be has gotten himself into some trouble. He was charged with assault sent to prison, put into a mental institution, rehab and then somehow saw God. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a anti-Christian, those days are long behind me. But why is it that when a metal artist suddenly becomes “saved” they seem to have to make a show of it and it suddenly becomes a writing inspiration.
