Has anyone else been following VH1’s new That Metal Show with Eddie Trunk? I’ve caught two episodes and found them quite boring. The focus isn’t so much on modern metal but features mostly stuff about older hair metal and whatnot.
Yngwie Malamsteen was on the first episode and Lita Ford was on the second episode I saw. Lita Ford is obviously showing age but she’ll always be a hottie in my book. Malsteen still looks and dresses like he has for the last 20 years, but he can still shred like a madman.

So either Direct TV or VH1 has something screwed up. I went to turn to VH1 classic yesterday because my Direct TV guide said Metal Mania was on. Metal Mania normally isn’t all that great anyway but when I tuned to the channel a Boyz II Men video was playing. I was rather shaken. I thought “Is the direction VH1 has taken Metal Mania?”. I tried to turn again a little later in hopes that it would actually be on but Michael Jackson was on grabbing his crotch, singing “Beat It”. That made me rather uncomfortable.

I once again turned on VH1 Classics last night and for the 6 millionth time, Heavy: the story of metal was on. I only watched a bit of it but it was enough to get me riled. Warrant, a band that I never liked was featured on there. After all the trash talking, all the criticism, I can’t stop watching this show. Perhaps it’s because there is nothing better on. I know it’s not because this show is chuck full of beautiful women cause it ain’t! There are a few decent looking ones. I just don’t know. I see that it’s on and I turn to it.

Flipping through the channels once more I came across The Rock Of Love. VH1’s new reality with Poison’s Bret Michaels. I watched about 5 to 7 minutes of this just because stupidity sparks my curiosity.

So VH1 thought is was necessary to start a new reality show with Poison’s vocalist Bret Michaels. I really didn’t want to feature anything about this because I have never considered Poison to be metal but I do have an opinion on it so I thought “Screw it”, what better reason to bash a washed up glam star.
