October 10, 2008 by Scott

Christian Metalcore band War OF Ages will premiere their first video from their latest release Arise & Conquer on Mtv2’s Heabanger’s Ball this saturday. With a limited budget, Leroy Hamp explains how they kept the first burning during the shoot. You can read all that good stuff over at Headbangerblog.com if you like. Cool video for a great band and song.

VA Beach Lunatic Luau Canceled Due To Weather

September 5, 2008 by Scott

Hatebreed Live Dominance I was trying to go to the Lunatic Luau this coming Saturday, but I decided with this hurricane moving up the coast that it wasn’t a good idea. Well word is spreading that it was canceled and I just checked the Livenation site to confirm and unfortunately for a lot of people it has been canceled. No word yet as to if or when they might reschedule this. Below is a list of bands that were to play the Luau. BUT WAIT!!! Just in from Hatebreed’s Myspace: If you’re in the VA Beach Area you can still see Hatebreed at ‘Steppin Out’ at 600 Nevan Rd.VA Beach, VA 23451 w/ Arsis and more.

Fortunately tonight’s Hatebreed show in Richmond and Sunday’s show in Raleigh with Emmure, Soilent Green, War Of Ages and Catalepsy. I’ll be there Sunday night so keep an eye out for pictures and a review on Monday!

The Scrap Metal Report 7/30

July 30, 2008 by Scott

Time for another quick Scrap Metal Report. I went to see the Brooklyn, NY based band Early man last night so I’m kind of tired after getting home at 1 am and getting up for work at 6am. You’ll see the results of that here in a bit. Let’s get started so maybe IO can get a good night’s sleep. Sleep? Who needs that, right? I do. It’s going to be a long day Friday at Mayhem Fest and If I don’t catch up a little tonight I’ll be draggin’ ass in Virgina Beach.

There is a new Ozzy impersonator on the TV show America’s Got Talent. It was such a convincing resemblance that Sharon Osbourne wanted him to pull down his pants so she could make sure it wasn’t really Ozzy, but then she remembered that she was wearing Ozzy pants so it could not have been him.

The Dio-era Black Sabbath: Rules Of Hell box set has sold just over 2600 copies in it’s first week. Not too shabby.

Do We Really Need Another Christian Metalcore Band? Facedown Records Thinks So

July 22, 2008 by Scott

warofages I swung by FYE today to pick up Austrian Death Machine (Which kicks ass, but I’ll get to that later this week) and I had two other cds that I wanted…ok, there was a sh*tload that I wanted and they were all good but I didn’t want to drop $200 in cds. Anyway, I had White Chapel and War Of Ages in my hands. Now for some odd reason I chose to take home the War Of Ages and not White Chapel. I kinda wished I had chosen White Chapel but I’m still cool with War Of Ages.

I’m basically going to break it down like this. If you like As I Lay Dying and Haste The Day and you like Jesus too, then you will dig War Of Ages Arise And Conquer. Even if you’re not a hardcore Christian or a Christian at all you might still like these guys. It was produced by Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying and his track record is getting pretty good so far.

White Chapel will be bought this weekend.
