Kind of after a last minute decision on Friday night, my friend Martin and I decided to go see Kreator, Exodus, Belphagor, Warbringer and Epicurean last night and man, I’m glad we did. Two veteran thrash bands on one bill, tearing it up like it was 1986.

It was crowded for 7:30 when we got there. Epicurean was playing and they were extremely loud, but pretty good. I’m not familiar with the band but they have a thrashy, almost death metal sound to them. I guess one of their guitar players bailed on them.

When I first saw these dates posted over at Metal Underground, I had to do a double take at the posted date because I thought I may have stumbled on to an old article. Obituary have scheduled a bunch of North American tour dates for September and October 2009. I need to start using MS Calendar to remind me up upcoming concert dates. Looks like they’re starting in the Southwest, working their way north in to Canada from west to east and then down the east coast. That’s good tour booking, right there. Weekends will probably start to look like they did this past weekend, with minimal updates. You can expect the same 5 a day or so during the week as usual, but weekends are going to be more dedicated to other things. With that said, check out Warbringer’s new video “At The Crack Of Doom“. I’m not a big fan of this band so far. Sure they are all thrashy, but they just doesn’t click with me. Enjoy~
