Zakk Wyled Goes Ballistic About Ozzy
Zakk Wyled didn’t just burn a bridge, he apparently dynamited that bastard like it crossed the River Kwai. In a recent phone interview with 101.5 KFLY in Oregon, Zakk remained relatively calm at first while saying:
“I gotta be honest with ya, the boss is not even giving me a phone call, so I mean, it’s just like, what’s going on over there? Are we doing this thing, are we not doing it? I keep getting asked these questions, I go ‘Call the boss, when he tells you, you call me back’.”
As the conversation progresses, Zakk becomes more and more agitated …read more
Zakk Wylde Pisses Me Off
April 25, 2009 by Scott
Perhaps that’s a bit of a misleading title, but I bought the new Black Label Society Skullage CD because I like the mellow songs, but it didn’t say neither explicit lyrics or clean and the songs that are explicit are edited. That kind of pissed me off. If it’s clean, clearly mark the god damned cd and say it’s clean regardless of whether it has the black and white warning or not.
The thing that pisses me off about Zakk Wylde is that it seems that he feels a need to make it known that he’s a great guitar player. …read more
Zakk Wylde Comments On Guitar Hero
February 13, 2009 by Scott
Zakk Wylde commented on Guitar Hero during a recent interview with Live-Metal.net. A lot of people in metal use the “F” word. I spent a while in the military so I am prone to using it quite a bit, but this dude it as if it’s going out of style.
Live-Metal.net: You just mentioned Guitar Hero. What do you think about that game, in general?
Zakk: It’s amazing. I think it’s gonna inspire a whole generation of guitar players. Kids are eventually gonna just, “I’m gonna do it for real. I’m gonna pick up a real guitar and try it.” I …read more
No Ozzfest, No Worries
February 12, 2009 by Scott
Blabbermouth reports that Ozzfest will sit on the back-burner this year so Ozzy Osbourne can record another mediocre record with plenty of Zakk Wylde signature squeals. So no Ozzfest this year. Does it really matter? I mean it used to mean something because you would have all these great bands and…AND Black Sabbath. I don’t think it really makes a big difference to metal fans, as there are a plethora of great festivals and concerts touring this year anyway. Not only that, but tickets are cheaper for almost any one of these festivals/shows than Ozzfest would be. So…no Ozzfest, …read more
Zakk Wylde’s Father Passes Away
Zakk Wylde’s father, who has been fighting cancer for some time now, has passed away due to complications with his battle. Zakk published the following statement on his official website.
“My father, Jerome F. Wielandt, who served as an inspiration to me and my music throughout my life, has passed away from cancer. His influence on my life and the life of others has motivated me in ways that have been both unexpected and profound.”
“In lieu of flowers, our family would like donations made in Jerome F. Wielandt’s memory to:

Is DF’s Through The Fire And Flames The New Eruption?
March 19, 2008 by Scott
Hell no!There is no doubt that DragonForce’s Through The Fire And Flames is a song of insanely complicated guitar work and in the early 80’s every new kid playing guitar was out to learn Eddie Van Halen’s Eruption note for note. However Through The Fire And Flames to me may be a bit too long and overly noodled. I can’t play Eruption or TTFAF and I wouldn’t give either a try. If anything I consider myself a rhythm guitarist and the most complex licks I have probably ever made an effort to learn are the intro to Crazy Train, …read more

5 Bands To Nurse A New Years Hangover
After the typical New Years ritual and the aftermath the next day there is just no way I can listen to the blast beats and distorted guitars of Metal. I have to slow things down for a few hours and soften it up a bit. Here is a list of some bands I like to listen to when I’m hungover.
1. Pink Floyd- The Division Bell has got to be by far the best music to listen to when you want to relax and feel better. Wish You Were Here and Dark Side Of The Moon are great too.
