The Amazing 2 Man Mosh Pit!

by Scott on March 6th, 2008

Just a little something I was laughing my ass off last night at the ATR show. During Light This City’s set there was a small mosh pit that would start and settle every now and then. And then there was the funniest thing I ever saw….a two man mosh pit…more like a 1 man mosh pit with 1 guy a little more enthusiastic than the other.

Some dud with a spiked mohawk wearing a sleeveless Pink Floyd t-shirt was trying to start a mosh about 10 feet away from where the real mosh pit was. just two guys in an open area about 7 feet in diameter  kind of spinning around and flailing his arms pushing people that were just standing around while his buddy stood off to the side and would push him off every now and then. He calmed after awhile after realizing he was pissing more people off than wanted to mosh with him. Later on I saw his buddy get kicked out for reason unknown to me.

At other shows I’ve been to I have seen multiple small mosh pits erupt in a venue but I have never seen a 2 man mosh pit. Kudos to Punk Floyd for not getting your ass kicked or booted from the club. Nice!

Reminds of the girl who stood in front of me at Type O Negative at the Tremont. She kept doing this twirly arm dance that was pissing everybody off that she kept bumping into.

What I always hated was when yuo get tired in the pit and you try to get out and some ass who is just standing around the pit doing nothing pushes you back in. These days I’m not inot the whole pit thing anymore. It’s actually more fun watching from above. What I do like is that there are still people that help each other up when someone falls.

My problem with mosh pits is because I am only 5′4″. I have taken several elbows in the face ( no hard feeling, most people’s elbows seem to be at my face height}. As a result I would much rather chill in the seats during a show.

One more thing- for the people who like to throw karate kicks- Stop!! You guys are just dicks out to hurt someone, and you sort of look like a retarded member of a rockets kick lline.

I hear you man. I’m only 5′7″ and it seemed everyone at this last show was really friggin tall and they all wanted to be up front. I’m not the type to push my way through a crowd so It was hard to see the show and the upper balcony so to speak was crowded too. ONe thing I hated was in the back part of the balcont where the best view was, they had tables lined up and were taking up good standing room and good picture taking spots. There was no one else with me so no one to save my spot if I had to piss. The only time I had a really good view was during Light This City and Chimaira. I could have been up fron for the whol show…if I had a diaper. LOL.

Haha, wish I could’ve been there to witness this phenomena that is a 2 man mosh pit.

I’m with the rest of you…i’m only 5′9″ and 135lbs, but I went to see ATR with my friend who’s over 6 feet tall and pretty well built. I felt tiny compared to everyone. Somehow, I was able to last for the whole 5 hours at that show. I took a few good hits but had a really great time. And when Chimaira got on…I didn’t think I’d make it out :P

Haha, karate moshers truly are retarded, and I’m sure my friend couldn’t agree with that more. When we went to see Shadows Fall last October, some chubby guy kept doing high kicks. He looked really ridiculous. But long story short…he ended up getting too close to my friend, and kicked him right in the thigh, which sent him to the ground. He’s alright though. Everyone just kind of stared at the guy. Good times.
