The Best Of Spineshank…WTF?

This to me is hilarious. The Best Of Spineshank? Didn’t they have like 3 records? Roadrunner Records even boasts on their site saying “One of the best bands in Metal history”. I honestly don’t know where they get this or what to say to that. I bought The Hieght of Callousness a long time ago, aside from Synthetic (the only listen able track) there is really no good songs on this CD. I do like the cover of George Harison’s As My Guitar Gently Weeps on their Strictly Diesel cd, but thats about it.
So how the hell can you have a Best Of Spineshank? Roadrunner has been very disappointing as of late. I think this is just one of those last ditch attempts for a band to fulfill their contract so they don’t get sued by the label. I think these days it’s more safe for a band and label to sign 1 cd contracts and save both the band and the label money and disappointment in the end.
A best of album after 3 albums is ridiculous and yes, i wouldn’t be surprised if it was just a contract filler.
However, they are definitely _one_ of the best bands ever… but perhaps not to your taste, try http://www.pinksteel.com/ instead.

I don’t care what your tastes is, thats still a bold statement to call them of all bands “One of the greatest metal bands”. If they were just that then they would be plastered all over the place.
If they said Metallica or Iron Maiden in that statement then I could understand…but spineshank?
Oh and the pink steel thing…it had me laughing from the front page…thats too funny!
Why exactly are spineshank “false metal”? I accept their albums weren’t that good, but live these guys slayed. And just out of curiosity, what is the derivation of a name like Fenriz??
It’s another of those labels. It’s either metal or its not to me. I’d say they were metal, just wasn’t my kind of metal. I dug out the aforementioned cd awhile back and thought I’d give it a listen because it had been so long and I couldn’t remember why I had stopped listening. It was one of those cd’s that you buy and like it a little bit when you first get it…and then you just stop listening to it.
fenriz is the singer of darkthrone…a ‘true’ metal band…look up manowar and you’ll see where death to false metal comes from…fucking pussy. i can’t believe you said slayed and spineshank in the same sentence…wow.
and for the record, the ‘derivative’ is norse mythos…
Manowar is a true metal band? Here I thought they were a bunch of guys with lots of chest hair performing in loincloths. I’m just sayin.
I thought they took the time to shave their chests right before they get oiled up for their album cover shoots, standing on rocks and leaning back as if some ungodly force is unleashing his wrath upon them.

Wow fenriz you are pretty hostile. I knew it was the whole Norse mythology crap…big, wolf, killed by son of odin, blah, blah blah. As for the Manowar stuff, I can’t even think about these guys without giggling to myself.
