The Haunted’s Peter Dolving Asking For Donations?
May 11, 2009 by Scott
That’s a pretty friggin’ bold thing to do, considering it’s tough enough to get people to even buy an album, no less donate money. Here is what he [Peter Dolving] writes on his Myspace, which is also where he’s taking donations.
I need funds to make a couple of projects actual reality.
No. 1. The Books. I need money to be able to sit down in peace and finish editing.
No. 2. The Music. I have come to the point where I am ready to start recording the O project and a drone/dance/ambient/rock project. Studio time = money.
No.3 The Art. I have collected 15 years of really nasty stuff and I am about to put together an array of weird shit and kinky sex-art on everything from T-shirts to lamp-shades.
Also I need hardware to step up my other design-projects.
So help me out, donate what you can I will turn the money into strange art, it’s what I do. Thank you. / Peter

yea because there’s nothing i’d rather do besides fund your techno album and sex art………
I think he might have got some buy in if he didn’t mention the word ‘dance’. Drone/Ambient/Rock sounds ok, but Dance?
It seems a lot of guys in metal are venturing outside of the norm. Igor Cavalera, Tommy Lee and his DJ thing, even Morbid Angel mentioned something about going outside the norm.
Perhaps if he offered a sample of what he’s planning then the investors, being the people that would donate, would feel more comfortable with contributing. But no….
I find Dolving asking for donations, offensive and completely out of order, but if Aro was to, I’d do it without question!
You know, if this was a band that ran out of money on tour and was asking for donations to just get them some gas money back home, then I would totally understand.
If I buy one of his albums, it’s like a donation, isn’t it? Though I haven’t bought one yet but I’ll consider. The Haunted has some really good songs, he shouldn’t be struggling to get money, rappers should!
Ya know, if you dont like it, then dont donate. He’s just asking for a little help. If you choose not to help, then shut up about it and move on. is it really worth getting heated up about? If you really put the energy into being mad about this, then you really need to take a second look at what you do with you free time. knit a sweater, kid.
I would but I can’t afford the yarn…care to make a donation for my sweater knitting project? Also I’ll need some needles (ie. Hardware) for this project. Oh, and I can make the sweater real nice and sexy, artsy kind of…but again I need donations. And unless you can teach me how to knit, I’ll need donations for some lessons too.
