The Inevitable Has Happened Death Magnetic Has Been Leaked

You knew that somehow it would happen. No Matter how much security is put in to effect to keep an album from being leaked, it always happens. Not to mention rumors that a store in France “Accidentally” sold a bunch of copies of the album yesterday, so if that was true you knew it would be leaked within 24 hours. From what I’ve been reading, a lot of people have been complaining about the production quality and blame it on the fact that it’s a leaked album quality, but let’s be honest and say that the leaked version will probably not sound too far from the original. I’ve spoken out about illegal downloading before and you know I’m against it so I won’t be wasting my time doing so, but if you do, don’t bitch and complain about the quality and make excuses for the band. Lars had to say this about the leak on a radio show yesterday:

“Listen, we’re ten days from release. I mean, from here, we’re golden. If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days. Happy days. Trust me. Ten days out and it hasn’t quote-unquote fallen off the truck yet? Everybody’s happy. It’s 2008 and it’s part of how it is these days, so it’s fine. We’re happy.”

I think perhaps Lars finally realizes that there is nothing that could have been done about this and it was bound to happen. Kudos to you Lars for not making an ass of yourself pounding your fist and bitching about it. You’ll make your money regardless if it’s better or worse than St. Anger. Hell, some are even saying the leak was intentional. I doubt that, but you never know.

With that said, who votes to see no more Metallica news here until after the release? Yes or No?
