The RIAA Are A Bunch Of Horny S.O.B.s

by Scott on March 1st, 2008

riaascrew The RIAA are a bunch of horny S.O.B.s. Why? Because as usual they are trying to screw someone. This article on Ultimate Guitar goes on to say that a lot of artists managers have been complaining that the RIAA is not distributing the money they are getting from settlements to the artists like they are supposed to. The estimated amount from settlements is around 400 million, minus lawyer fees I imagine there is still a fair amount left that should be given to the artists. But as usual the RIAA and their infamous greed has yet to give any of it in compensation to the artists that they are supposed to be fighting for. Honestly, does this surprise anyone?

Some of the larger records labels say the feet dragging issue is do to the fact that they have to figure out exactly how much compensation goes to which bands that have had their right “Infringed”. How many years has this been going on?

In my personal opinion the RIAA had no concern for the artists but the damage it was doing to their own pocket. But that’s just my feeble two cents.

I really think more artists should start doing what Nine Inch Nails did with their last release. Basically, they released some free downloads and official torrents for nine full songs off the album, so you could see how you like it. Then, it would only cost $5 to download all 36 tracks. They also had some CD sets, Deluxe editions, and Limited Edition versions up for order. Many supporters and fans paid for the songs, and in the end, I believe they made over $750,000 in just four days, even when their music was free for the most part. Just goes to show…we don’t need the RIAA.
