The Scrap Metal Report 8/13
Sorry about the lack of updates yesterday.I was in no shape to type yesterday, I went on a cocaine binge and didn’t come down until early this morning. Nah, just kidding. I don’t touch that stuff. We had some school shopping to do last night and got home late. Also had to get some tires put on the car this morning. A lot of stuff went on yesterday, but before I get to that, let me say that I’m about all Metallica and Slipknoted out. That’s all that seems to be in the news lately and there has been some relevant news to cover but I chose not to. Anyway, here is a brief run down of what went on yesterday and recently today. More to come later tonight.
Blabbermouth reported that Slipknot’s Jim Root said that he didn’t like working with producer Dave Fortman and Rick Ruben was a much better producer. MetalSucks.net’s Axl Rosenburg put in his 2 cents. Yes, I know I said I was tired of Slipknot news but this is worth a read. I also reserved my copy of All Hope Is Gone today.
Also at Metalsucks, David Bee Roth reviewed the new Acacia Strain Continent. I was expecting a review copy from Prosthetic Records as they usually send me the new stuff to review, but it has not arrive and/or they lost my address…or something.
Deciblog Introduced us to Kings Of The Dead, in the Great Bands You Never Heard Of feature and refered to the as “Rush meets Celtic Frost in a crack lounge.”
The legal battle for the Gorgorath name is still going on. Does anyone really care about this? If both parties were really serious about this they would have a fight to the death in black leather, corpse paint and medieval weaponry, damnit! But we all know that Gaahl is much too busy designing women’s clothing.
You can hear a new song off of The Haunted’s upcoming album, Versus. Moronic Colossus is the title and you can hear it at their Myspace.
Check Back Later for more updates, etc.

i dunno, no one really cares about name battles anymore. it’d have to be iron maiden or judas priest to have one to really make metalheads pay attention.
