The Warped Tour Organizer Speaks Out Against “Free” Ozzfest

July 30, 2007 by Scott

ozzfest1502.gifAs we all know this years Ozzfest is “Free”. I put free in quotes because tickets are not that easy to get and the line-up really isn’t that good. So even though its free is it still worth it to sit or stand out in the blazing sun to watch a less than mediocre show? The Van’s Warped tour organizer doesn’t think so, and he brings up some very valid points. I said it in an earlier “Metal Shavings” post that I’d much rather pay and see a good line-up than go for free and see maybe one or two bands worth seeing. The only thing that may be good about this tour is that the smaller name bands that haven’t quite got their name out there are getting a chance and I hope it works out well for them, but in the meantime you can read the full article at Metal Hammer

I had a chance to go to the past Ozzfest (the “free” one) but I opted not to go. Just didn’t seem to be worth it at all. I’d easily rather spend a reasonable amount of money in order to see a show that I actually want to see.
