What Do You Think Of Metallica’s Cyanide?
August 12, 2008 by Scott
Thanks to Blabbermouth.net, we have a soundboard quality recording of Metallica performing Cyanide at Ozzfest from their upcoming Death Magnetic. Right now all I can say is that it’s 1000 times better than anything from St. Anger, but what will the studio, pro-tooled version sound like? Not too shabby. Back to the 90’s-ish but not too shabby. A little over-use of the wah as usual though.
So what do you think?

I think “Cyanide” is a good omen of what’s to come and I’m eager to hear “Death Magnetic” in its entirety.
The bass is really vivid in this one, shows that Trujillo was deeply engaged in the making of the album.
good, and like you said much better than saint anger, but still nothing like the olden days.
sigh
this IS better than saint anger yes but
metallica will never be the same the solo was nice
as for the rest i wish i could say the same
james’ vocals kinda sucked and i coulda sworn i heard lars say something about fixing that fucking drum, like i said
sigh
This song sound pretty decent, the guitars arrangements are really good, the bass sound good, the vocals and the drums are alright, but i’m pretty sure the studio version will sound way better than this.
i dunno, i’m kinda neutral with it. i don’t hate it, but i don’t love it either. it could be worse i suppose
This didn’t really do anything for me. I will render a judgment when I hear the whole album.
meh. boring… it’s just mediocre — sad that they have to try so hard nowadays to merely not suck.
you can tell hetfield has just plain lost his “voice”.
This song has very much liked me. I do not agree in occasion of that it is similar on ” Master Of Puppets “. The new album, in my opinion will not be similar not on early, not on late a plate of band Metallica. It is very a pity, that they have not played this song in St.-Petersburg, Russia, on July, 18th…
i have no idea what that guy means
Pretty impressive!! Sounded like a “And Justice/ Black Album” hybrid
Far fetched to be compared to “Master of Puppets” but we’ll see when the album comes out, this song has already convinced me to buy it anyways
