Win A B.C. Rich Guitar from Ultimate-guitar.com

by Scott on December 6th, 2007

bcrichguitars.jpgWin a BC Rich guitar. As some of you may know I play a little guitar and I frequently visit Ultimate-guitar.com and post some of the contests they have. B.C. Rich guitars have always been a staple of a lot of metal bands, and while they are not the most comfortable guitars to play, if you get a good one you’ll love it. Ultimate-guitar.com is hosting a BC rich contest. Go here to enter. BC rich guitar giveaway contest

Hmm, for some reason, I really dislike B.C. Rich guitars. In my opinion, the best guitars for playing metal are Ibanez, and some ESP models. Of course a free guitar is a free guitar…so yea.

The good american lines sound great but the less expansive korean made BC’s do not sound all that great. The bronze series sound just as good as the platinum. I won’t own another. right now I have an Ibanez rg series and I love it. I love the way the neck is shaped and the pick-ups on Ibanez always shred. I also own a cheap Dean ML-X that I repainted with a dimebag lightning themeis thing. I recently bought a real cheap jackson randy rhodes style v that was beat up. I broke of the head stock trying to drill out the tuner holes for some nice ping tuners. Had to replace that with a nice reverse headstock sharkfin style inlay mighty might neck. Also repainted the guitar with a grey hammered finish look. I want to play it but I’m waiting on a locking nut. I’ll post some pictures some time.

Damn, some pretty sweet guitars you’ve got there! I really like the Ibanez RG series, and I’ve played some Jacksons here and there. Your Dean with the dimebag paintjob sounds really awesome. Wish I could get the guts to repaint one of my guitars, but knowing me, I’d screw up.
Right now, I’m using a PRS SE Custom (well priced, and has amazing quality), with locking tuners, and replaced the stock pickups with some Seymour Duncans. I also have an American Fender Strandard Strat which I don’t play too much, but I like the warm tone I can get from it. Great for playing some blues and classic rock. I’m still saving up to try and find a 1956 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop reissue (in my opinion, one of the sexiest guitars i’ve ever seen), but I’m not sure if I’ll get it. Once I come up with the money, I’ll decide. But yea, as far as doing work on my guitars…most I’ve done was just scallop my neck. Can’t wait to see some pics though!

The best one of the bunch is the RG 2, I have really come to like Ibanez. For foreign made guitars they are awesome. The Jackson I got was dirt cheap…and Now I’ve dumped some money into it so I think I’m going to go and get a dimebucker for it as well. The Dean ML is a cheapo. I had to replace the tuners cause they were garbage as were the ones on the jackson. I’ve had epiphones, jacksons, bc rich’s, dean, washburn, westone, squire and now Ibanez and I wish I had started with Ibanez a long time ago.

Trust me the paint jobs aren’t all that great like a nice factory paint job…but they arent as bad as I used to do them when I was a teen and didn’t know how to use a spray can or have the patience to wait for it to dry completely. For some reason I have come to like reverse headstocks. My Ibanez is tuned to D and sometimes drop C. I like it that way but I also like switching out with the dean and playing in E with my earnie ball skinny top heavy bottoms (or is it theother way) anyway I love those strings. I dont have a clue what is on the ibanez..same strings as when I bought it 6 months ago…I’m afraid to change them and throw the intonation off.
