Win An Opeth Signed Guitar Pick

November 7, 2008 by Scott

Up for giveaway is a guitar pick used and signed by Fredrik Akesson from Opeth. It doesn’t look like much of a signature but it was the best he could do. Contest entry is simple. All you have to do is enter a comment and you are entered. I will pick a winner at random on December 1st. Open to U.S. and Canadian residents only please.

    Dude that’s sweet

  2. Catherine says:

I love Opeth with all my heart. I saw them at Gigantour a couple years back (amazing) but missed them on their most recent tour–which is a shame, because so far I love the new album. C’est la vie, though.

Opeth is one of the greatest metal band of the past twenty years or so… A lot of metal fans accuse them of being wimpy, but frankly, Opeth is one of the most creative metal bands still active, and their clean vocals and wonderful acoustic textures don’t detract from them at all. I’ve copped a few riffs and ideas from Opeth, and I’ll freely admit it, Opeth is great. Releases like “Orchid”, “Blackwater Park” and “Damnation” are prog-metal classics. If they ever come ’round here, I’d see them in a second.

  4. Megan says:

I saw Opeth in Raleigh last month… Incredible…

That’s where I got this from. That damn place (The Lincoln) was packed. I was the ugly dude taking pictures beyond their tiny-ass barrier.

  6. Hmm says:

I don’t blame him on trying to sign a pick, ha, but it’s still pretty awesome. Me likey!

  7. Katie! says:

AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love him! He’s the best… And Opeth… AMAZING!!!!!!

Oh, what I would give to have this…

  8. James says:

Cool stuff, did he use it during the show, soundcheck..?

Cheers for a sweet contest :D

  9. Metal Martyr says:

Wasn’t used during the show that night. He gave it to me before the concert when we had the interview. However it was probably used at another show or sound check from that day. It is a very heavy gauge pick and shows good signs of wear.

oh my, the best band alive, the best man alive. you have no idea. i followed them my whole life and never even got my arm signed. they are the best on the earth and if i win i would do anything. they rarely sign and whoever gets this is one really lucky person. good luck to all.
